Training & Discipline
"The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in
front of him, but because he loves what is behind him."
We owe a responsibility to our youth. Chicano Youth must be taught discipline, respect and honor. Therefore in
order to draw in the youth we must look, act, and be impressive. Marching and Drill calls are not only for the Drill
squad, it is the duty of every Brown Beret to learn to march. In marching we show our supporters and our enemies
the discipline that we have as an army. When our troops are arrayed and prepared for battle we shall strike fear
into the hearts of our enemies. Therefore the following Drill Call Commands must be mastered by every Brown
Beret.

CHICANO POWER FIST
Raise your right fist from your side, pump it once in the air then place it back. simultaneously
repeat and yell Chicano Power!. Repeat as required.
The meaning of Chicano Power is rooted in the civil rights movement. In the 60’s Chicanos and
Blacks marched the streets shouting Chicano Power and Black Power. To them their declaration
was one of challenging the status quo and building power within their communities. They fought to
take back the street from racist police, kkk, crooked politicians who murdered and abused young
Chicanos and Blacks and sought to destroy their way of life. Chicano Power therefore means the
continuance of seeking freedom, prosperity, and peace for our Raza.
Upon hearing Chicanos and Blacks declaring such Power white racist such as the neo-nazis, aryan
skinheads, kkk, and others began declaring white power. Theirs is a racist declaration of
maintaining the status quo of white authority and world domination. It is against this mentality that is
still alive today that the Brown Berets fight. With all our might we will destroy that status quo. Que
viva la Revolucion!
SALUTE
Every Officer and regular enlisted soldier must pay respect to their superiors and other soldiers by
saluting when the Officer approaches or enters a room and routinely saluting other soldiers If the
soldier does not comply he/she will be disciplined by doing 20-50 pushups as ordered by the
officer. It is the responsibility of every officer to reply if the officer does not he/she shall also be
disciplined by a superior officer. The Salute shall be in this manner:
* Shall stand at Attention
* Shall raise right fist up to heart with palm facing down back of the hand facing up
* Shall stay in this position until the officer replies
* Shall loudly say “Mexica Tiahui!”
* The first to see the officer shall loudly alert other soldiers by saying “Firmes!” and all must
likewise stop what they are doing and salute.

RESPECTING THE UNIFORM
Our Brown Beret Veterans paid the ultimate price to be called a Brown
Beret. Some of our members were gunned down on the streets by abusive
cops and racist Americans who felt it was their patriotic duty to kill Mexicans.
We remember their sacrifice every time we put on our uniform and it is why
we take our Uniform standards very seriously. We command every soldier to
ensure that their uniform is clean, ironed, and presentable. We will not
tolerate sloppiness or looking raggedy. Boots must also be cleaned and
shined. If a soldier drops his/her beret or disrespects the uniform in anyway,
that soldier will be disciplined with doing push-ups. It doesn't matter what
rank that soldier holds, all are subject to the same rule. It is an honor to be a
Brown Beret, not everyone can make it, not everyone is selected. If you
desire to join us keep this in mind that we will expect you to give us your best.
